Opis
Proposed design is transforming “old” block formation into new and open urban landscape. This landscape has all of the main city ingredients such as landmark buildings, open spaces, squares, green spaces and it allows more freely flow of the information.
Main criteria which formulates concept of design are:
- “genius loci” of the old site remains “visible” and still recognizable from various directions it is accessible
- block is transforming from closed geometrical structure into fluid space which invites passenger to explore
- dialogue with existing structures - explore block interior – besides visual also to maintain tactile contact with “old” structures
- pedestrians – freedom – move – offering “shortcuts” and logical passages through block
- location preserves its recognizability while preserving existing buildings – allowing for “pictures” from spatial memory to influence with modern design and new urban organization of the block
- structure and organizational transparency – allow intercourse with “inside” of the block and while “inside” to follow what’s happening outside
- design based of allowing continuously vertical and horizontal moving - connects space not only horizontally but also vertically
- to create new identity in space - recognizable and easy describable
