ARCHI[TE]NSIONS is a New York based innovative architecture and urban design office working globally from New York City. The firm was established in 2003 by Alessandro Orsini, registered Italian architect, as a vehicle of research for the built environment. The work of the firm has been internationally exhibited and published.
ARCHI[TE]NSIONS is dedicated to exploring the relationship between architecture and the social developments of contemporary cities through new ways of integrating and organizing ideas with the programmatic and functional essence of a building within the urban fabric.
Alessandro Orsini studied in Rome where he acquired a special sensibility in integrating new projects into contexts with particular cultural and historic importance. Furthermore Archi[te]nsions emphasizes sustainable building and site development as fundamental to innovative and imaginative design, incorporating green roofs, double walls like in the Upside-down Skyscraper and advanced mechanical systems like in the Yeosu 2012 pavilion for the world expo in Korea.
In addition to his private practice work, Alessandro Orsini has been working for several years together with Steven Holl Architects in numerous mixed used developments and in a number of museums, among which The New Herning Museum in Denmark and the Museum of Surf in Biarritz France, as key member of the design team and acquiring an incredible international experience in the field of architecture and design.
