Opis
Concept - after „cleaning“ the block of temporary barracks and storage, remain relatively firm borders in the north and north-east, and the building of the old destillery and two walls recognized as important parts of Croatian industrial heritage. On the south, undeveloped part a protective element in the form of lamel building is built as protection from traffic and market noise. This act created a very large central space, devoid of all negative external influences. As such, it is converted into a new public space-park. The bit positions where pedestrian flows are going into the block, large openings emerge, dimensioned to pass a pedestrian frequency. Except these passages, another one is opened through existing building to the east towards Kvaternik square to make it more active as today it is not the case for lack of content and new possibilities.
Elongated building contains facilities economically viable and thus, as a tool, enables the public, not economically viable contents-goal. Newly planned public, social and cultural facilities are those that do not exist in the immediate vicinity, and are needed on the level of town and neighborhood. In the park, the former destilery building is converted into a theatre with a dance center, the north wall becomes part of a multi-purpose hall, and a brand new facility is made-library and youth center. New facilities, including their materials must be neutral and not intrusive to the prior cultural heritage. The front of the lamel building is uniform (protective) to the street, towards park is the same grid, but the plan is distorted in order to create terraces that communicate directly to the park. The newly developed internal buildings are also neutral, but in another material and the other character.
