Opis
The core of the site forms a cultural center in the building of the distillery. The boundary of the block is formed with functions, guided by the surrounding environment. On the other hand of the market, a department store is located in the building of factory "Gorica" (with reconstructed historical façade). The southern part of the block is assumed office building with different creative working and educational amenities. The western boundary of the quarter, overlooking a quiet one-way street, it is expected to accommodate residential zone. Eastern part of Badel Block is suitable for a hotel, that is creating a between separating the existing residential area and new activity zone.
Buildings on the perimeter create relatively isolated public space around the cultural center. The transitional zone between the core and the perimeters is the combination of contact functions. Variability of facilities and spaces with different qualities of activity forms a diversity of activities and attracts groups with different interests, turning block as meeting point. The presence of the core and the borders and open spaces between them makes a flexible sustainable structure providing possibilities for progressive activation of the block.
